Mari Gusli

The Mari people have always deified a musical instrument, which is called “Kusle” in the Mari language; rituals, weddings and other holidays could not take place without them.
Today, the gusli is recognized as the national brand of Mari El; they are taught to play in music schools and colleges of the republic.
